12. 2011 Koenigsegg Agera
Top Gear Magazine called it the Hypercar of the Year in 2010 even before it debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011. The mid-engined sports car has a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The engine produces an astounding 940HP, accelerates 0-60 in 3 seconds, and has a top speed of 269 mph. If you think you recognize the car, it’s appeared in the Need for Speed franchise, and in the mobile video game Real Racing 3.
11. 1981 – 1983 DeLorean DMC-12
The DeLorean DMC-12, commonly known as ‘the DeLorean’ was the only car ever produced by the DeLorean Motor Company. The company went into liquidation with the crash of the US car market. The car was popularized by its use in the Back to the Future movie franchise in which the car was modified to become a time machine. With gull-wing doors and a steel backbone chassis, the car certainly looked futuristic! In 2016, the newly acquired DMC announced that it would be building 300 DMC-12s – each is projected to cost $100,000.
