52. 1962 AC Cobra

From 1962 the first AC Cobra MKI was sold to the US. It had a 4.7-liter V8 Ford engine. The MKI was followed up by an MKII and an MKIII until 1967. In 1993, it was revealed that Carroll Shelby was scheming to counterfit his own cars due to the increasing cost and demand of original AC Cobras.

51. 1956 – 1959 BMW 507

The 507 Roadster was intended to be a middle ground car between too-expensive Mercedes Benz’ and cheap Triumphs in the 1950s market. Unfortunately, the car ended up being super expensive to produce and meant there were only 34 units of the Series I produced. While celebrity clientele loved the car, Elvis had two, the car was too expensive for anyone else. It brought BMW to the edge of bankruptcy, even though it was intended to update the company’s image. In total, only 252 were built. The car is still considered stylish and the car’s appeal has held true; in 2014, a 507 sold at auction for $2.4 million.
